Steeped with beautiful historic buildings such as Chateau de Chillon, Switzerland has a lot of culture. Standing on the shores of Lake Geneva is the 13th century castle. What was once a fortress, Castle of Chillon has been subject to many renovations and transformations over its long history. Being the home of many famous residents such as counts, emperors and princesses it is full of many interesting historical facts.

For the wine lover head to St Saphorin. The quaint vineyard village allows you to sample local wines from the many cellars. Add in the restaurants for fresh fish such as perch for a culinary delight.

The village of Gruyeres, home of the famous cheese, is located nearby to Montreux. Park up the Car Rental Montreux and wander up the cobbled streets, sampling the produce from the Cheese Factory.

If travelling in early July, then the Montreux Jazz festival will be on. Huge music artists such as REM or B.B.King have played there.
